Our kennel, Whisper Ridge Poodles, and home, Whisper Ridge Farm, is located on the beautiful Kenai Peninsula in South Central Alaska. We have enjoyed the majesty of nature and the down home feel of Alaska since moving here from Florida in 1998.
Our Standard Poodles have been an integral part of our lives for the past 16 years. While our poodles are part of our family and treated as such; we are committed to producing poodles as close to the breed standard as possible. Accordingly we show our poodles in AKC shows, obedience and agility trials. We believe our poodles should be able to compete successfully in both the breed ring and in performance venues.
We also believe in producing the healthiest poodle we can. All our breeding stock are tested for Hips-OFA, Eyes-CERF, vWD-DNA, SA, Cardiac-CERF, NE, & Thyroid. While there is never a perfect quarantee of health when breeding; we try our best to utilize all the current health testing available to reduce the risk of producing health problems.
Currently we have five Standards sharing our household. Maggie the eldest, is nine years old and doing well. Maggie is a top producer with an AKC championship as well as obedience and agility titles. We own two of Maggie's daughters, Princess & Rose, and one of her grand daughters, Madeline.
Both Princess and Rose are breed champions and have earned their Rally Novice titles. Madeline started her conformation show career in 2007 and will compete in obedience/agility in 2008. Rounding out our group of Sandards is our sweet boy, Willie. He too is a breed champion and has his Rally Novice and CGC.
